Welcome. The Mizuho USA Foundation is an independent not-for-profit philanthropic organization created by Mizuho Corporate Bank in 2003.
The primary mission of the Mizuho USA Foundation is to provide Program Grants to not-for-profit charitable organizations to support community development programs that contribute to the strength and vitality of urban neighborhoods.
The Foundation seeks to fund innovative programs in low-income neighborhoods that foster economic self-sufficiency and address critical needs such as affordable housing, economic development and workforce development. The Foundation's primary geographic focus is New York City.
The Mizuho USA Foundation also makes grants to support the community involvement of Mizuho employees in the United States. The Mizuho Community Involvement Grants Program provides grants to the not-for-profit charitable organizations with which Mizuho employees volunteer. The Mizuho Matching Gift Program matches donations made to eligible not-for-profit charitable organizations by U.S. employees of the Mizuho Financial Group. Not-for-profit charitable organizations active in the areas of education, arts and culture, health and community affairs are eligible for consideration. Requests for grants must come from eligible Mizuho employees in the U.S.
The Foundation's current endowment is US$13 million. Since its inception in January 2003 through December 2011, the Foundation made over $4,400,000 in program grants to 49 organizations. In addition, the Foundation's employee-directed philanthropic programs have provided almost $850,000 in grants to hundreds of not-for-profit charitable organizations across the United States.
